Research Documents In Production Of Cannabis Compounds That Are Stronger Than Aspirin
A study in the “photohemistry” journal has found out that how little known compounds in cannabis have pain relieving ability 30 times than that of the aspirin.
A study was conducted on two flavoniods called cannflavin A and cannflavin B, a type of plant compounds in almost all the vegetables and fruits, at the university of Guelph in Canada.
The scientists specifically evaluated the biosynthesis, the production of molecules in the body, of these flavonoids; this process has ever been documented for the first time.
It was found that the Cannflavin is about 30 times stronger than the aspirin by weight in reducing inflammation, in a Research in 1984, by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the University of London.
It was suggested by these evidences that cannflavins could be a good alternative to opioids as pain reliever.
The study’s author, Triq Akhtar, Ph.D., said that there is a need to a need to invent substitute for relief of acute and chronic pain that go beyond opioids. According to him, these molecules are non-psychoactive, and are ideal painkillers by targeting the inflammation at the source.
