Innocan Pharma And Tel Aviv University Collaborate To Examine CBD-Based COVID-19 Treatment
InnoCan Pharma Ltd. in Herzliya, Israel and Tel Aviv University (TAU) are collaborating to examine the CBD-loaded exosomes (CLX) for the therapy of COVID-19.
Exosomes are lipid vesicles that transport genetic information and protein to cells.
It is shown by some studies that it may be exosomes which are responsible for carrying and dispersing disease causing molecules between cells, like cancer or proteins involved in Alzheimer’s.
Nonetheless, researchers are now trying to “load” exosomes with useful molecules to treat diseases.
TAU and InnoCan announced, “exosomes loaded with CBD hold the power to provide a highly harmonious effect of anti-inflammatory characteristics and help in the survival of infected lung cells.”
The suggested therapy is probably to be administered via inhalation.
Professor Daniel Offen, specialist in Neuroscience and Exosome technology at the university, leads the the team from TAU and InnoCan.
Professor Offen said, “I am happy to work with the InnoCan team on this intriguing CLX development project. We are facing a challenging time, and I believe our particular approach promised to find a treatment for pneumonia, COVID-19, and probably for other lung inflammations as well.”
InnoCann is providing about $435,000 at first step, for funding this research.
Iris Bincovich, the CEO of InnoCan, said “ today, One of the largest challenge in healthcare is COVID-19. We are generating a new therapy to join the global aim to combat the impacts of COVID-19 by developing the CLX. We are confident to make a difference as quickly as possible to help patients across the world.”

So, I, Jared Polis, Governor of the State of Colorado, do hereby announce April 7 permanently as Charlotte Figi Day in the State of Colorado.”
On April 7, Charlotte Figi expired due to complications by a virus.
She was 13.
On April 3, Charlotte was admitted to Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs, and on April 5, she was discharged after negative testing reports for COVID-19 and showing improvement.
However, on the morning of April 7, she admitted to the hospital after a spasm.
Charlotte’s mother said in a Facebook post that spasm had resulted in “cardiac arrest and respiratory failure,” which eventually led to her death later that day.
Charlotte was suffering with a rare kind of childhood epilepsy called Dravet syndrome, and was having seizures since she was three months old.
The Figi tried medical cannabis in the form of CBD oil, after the failure of every treatment.
Charlotte was nearly seizure-free with CBD, After being suffered with around 300 grand mal seizures a week.
The Stanley Brothers, who gave the oil to Charlotte and her family, named the plant as Charlotte’s Web and started a CBD company of the same name to pay a tribute to her.
Stanley Brothers in a memorial post on their site wrote, “Charlotte, you are the light of our lives. Thank you for your life, your courage, and your beautiful soul. We love you, Charlie.”

Congress had passed the Paycheck Protection Program Increase Act, and President Donald Trump had signed it on Friday, making hemp farmers eligible to receive relief.
Particularly, Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) program make the hemp farmers eligible for loans.
Since USDA also has programs for farmers, so it was not clear in previous bills that hemp farmers are eligible to get assistance from EIDL or not.
Nonetheless, these USDA programs are generally restricted to natural disasters.

Organization wrote in their letter, “We impulse SBA to interpret that agricultural companies are eligible for the EIDL program as well as the emergency grant program. We also demand that SBA should provide clear guidelines verifying that agricultural companies are eligible for other SBA programs included in the CARES Act.”
$10 billion are added to the EIDL by the latest legislation, which enhances the preliminary Paycheck Protection Program from $349 billion to $659 billion.
